Ok, so last time we spoke, I was about to get on a plane to Europe for two weeks. The trip was fabulous. I really do owe it its own post with pictures, and I promise I will try. But for now, just know that Diana and I had an amazing time. There were no meltdowns, I didn’t fight at all with Dave (a serious, serious accomplishment) and we got to see and experience so many new things. Spain was better than I remember and I can understand now why my friend Kristin fell in love with Sevilla. The wedding was a blast and I danced the night away until 4am. We came away with so many memories and great stories, which inspired us to book another trip in the Spring. Yeah, you read that right.
After I returned from Europe, I jumped head first into work. Well, I didn’t jump so much as I was forcibly chained to my computer and consumed with new projects. But it’s been a good thing. I’m hoping to move up the chain soon so putting in the extra hours and learning as much as I can isn’t really a bad thing. As I’ve mentioned before, I really love my job. I’m blessed to work with some incredibly talented people who also happen to be great fun to hang out with outside the office.
Which brings me to my next life choice of possibly moving to Europe. It’s become a very real and very possible situation as of late. However the one thing holding me back is my current job. I count my lucky stars to have found a job I enjoy going to everyday and I know how hard that is to find. Am I a fool to leave that and risk losing this position just to travel around Europe for a year or two? Or am I fool for NOT leaving the job for the opportunity to travel Europe for a year or two? Decisions, decisions.
Decisions are slightly easier to make when you have a solid footing and know who you are, what you stand for and what you believe in. Unfortunately, all of that has been ripped from beneath me in the wake of this horrific Penn State sexual abuse scandal. I’m still sorting through my feelings and trying to deal with this, and when I have a better grasp, I’ll make a post. What I do know is that I wholeheartedly disagree with the firing of Joe Paterno.
Ok, that’s all for now, but I promise not to stay away for so long again!
