A few hours and several drinks later, we boarded our train to Sevilla. We had first class tickets (goes without saying anymore, right?) so we instantly were greeted with our own bottles of rioja (Spanish red wine) and menus. Finally with some drinks and food in our tummies, we were happy campers once again. This train ride that started off so badly, quickly became a highlight of the trip. We continued to take advantage of the free wine and enjoyed lively conversation and views of the Spanish countryside. By the time we made it to Sevilla, we were feeling pretty darn good.
We explored the city a bit and took in an authentic flamenco show that came highly recommended by the bride and groom. It was quite impressive. We cafed (surprise!) and enjoyed some more of the Spanish culture. Around midnight, we ran into some of my other college friends who were there for the wedding also, however Rob and Dave were no longer presentable so Diana and I took them back to the hotel. (A journey which got us lost in the small streets of Sevilla. Lots of cursing, yelling, and storming off. Somehow, we all made it back safe and sound).
Sevilla was a beautiful city, and I can see why Kristin would fall in love there and want her wedding in such a special place. It was a great ending to a wonderful vacation.
It was an amazing trip and we thank our excellent hosts and brothers, Rob and Dave. We are left with so many incredible stories and memories that have already been the source of so many jokes and happy conversations between us all. We can’t wait to see you again in April!
