I was in Barnes and Nobles today and had to resist the urge to purchase several new books. I thought about the countless books I had at home which remain unread. I made myself promise that I wouldn't buy anymore new books until I read through the ones I already had. Between all the weddings and bachelorette parties this summer, I imagine I'll have some downtime which I hope to spend at the pool with a good read. This summer, my goal is to make a huge dent in those unread books. Above, are the books I plan to read my way through over the next few months (Click on the pictures for a larger view to see specific titles). It's a great mix of chick-lit, classics, historical/non-fiction and a few biographies. Not pictured above are the three books also waiting to be read on my iPad. I used to hate summer reading lists during school but now I'm pretty excited about the picks I have laid out! I've got my work cut out for me, so I'm looking forward to getting started at the pool tomorrow! Bring on the sunscreen and sunshine!
I just finished The Help- it was excellent! And let me know what you think of "Stories I Only Tell My Friends- I was debating adding that to my to-read list as well :) Are you on Goodreads?
I have The Help and Heart of the Matter on my list too! And Water for Elephants too. Eat Live Run has great book suggestions when you're ready - my last 2 have been from her and she's gotten me back into reading again!

@Lindsay- I'm a few chapters into both "Stories I Tell My Friends" and "Bossypants" and I like Bossypants a lot better. I think as a woman I can appreciate Tina Fey's stories more. Although she is suprisingly crass at times. But still very funny. And I'm not on goodreads... sounds like something I'll have to check out though!
@Lindsey- I'm really tempted to add "Water for Elephants" to my list. If I make it through all these other ones I'll definitely check it out. I feel like I have a waitlist! haha
