Phew! It’s been a hectic few weeks and I’m finally getting settled back in at home, just in time to start my new job on Monday! Before I get caught up with that, I wanted to post about the trip I just took and share some pictures and stories.
A few weeks ago we packed up and flew to Germany for another whirlwind trip. We landed Saturday morning and that night were decked out and ready for a night in the casino at Baden-Baden.

After a nice dinner, we were enjoying the fancy life in the James Bond-esque casino, until Diana accidentally poked me in the eye while trying to get hair out of my face. The next day we had to leave early so I could get to the German ER where they did a minor eye surgery and left me with an eye patch. Awesome.
Once my eye was on the mend, we took off on a 5 hour car ride to Salzburg, Austria. There we explored the city on bicycles with Fraüline Maria’s Sound of Music Tour! We got to see the major sites of the movie, and despite my inability to relearn to ride a bike, it was a lot of fun. I think even Rob managed to enjoy it.

We enjoyed some great drinks and meals in Salzburg at different restaurants and cafes (notable: Hotel Sacher, Afro Café and Shrimps). One night Diana lost her wallet but it was found by a kind Austrian woman who contacted Diana through Facebook! The girl is in the process of mailing the wallet back, cash and credit cards all included!
After Salzburg, we drove to Munich- through the Alps! We tried to go to Berteschgarten but it was closed due to a blizzard. As a silver lining, it allowed for a beautiful drive!
The Glockenspiel was lit up for Breast Cancer Awareness on our first night there! It was awesome! Looked like a Halloween Castle! We spent a few days exploring Munich and trying on dirndls. Dave was able to take the train down and surprise on our last night. To celebrate, we went to the famous Rathskeller Restaurant under the Glockenspiel.
