And by friends, I mean, he has replied twice to my Tweets on Twitter. And by celebrity, I mean he is local Washington DC Weatherman, Doug Kammerer on NBC. This is the closest I have even been, and probably ever will be, to having a "famous" friend. The two times @dougkammerer has tweeted back to me have been small highlights of my celebrity-deprived life. The only other time I've come close to having a celeb encounter was when I was 12 years old. We were in Las Vegas and saw Chevy Chase and Beverly DeAngelo filming Vegas Vacation at the MGM Grand Hotel and Casino. The best part of that story? I was 12 years old. In Las Vegas. Who takes a 12 year old to Sin City? I've been addicted to all things tacky, glittery and gambling-related ever since. I've been to Vegas five times in not so many years. I've twice been with Vegas "First Timers" and created monsters of them both. One has been back 3 times since I took him, the other keeps begging me to take her again. What can I say? It's Disneyworld for grownups and I love it. But my love and appreciation of Las Vegas is for a whole other post. I could talk for days about my love of the Glittery City. This post is about Doug. My new BFF. So if you want a special insider's peak at the DC weather forecast, give me a shout. I can pull some stings and get the scoop for ya, direct from the source.
