Emily Griffin, Author of "Love the One You're With" and "Heart of the Matter"
I'm generally a fan of Emily Griffin's books, I've now read all of five or six of them. They are very easy, chick lit/beach reads. All involve a 20 or 30 something woman dealing with some kind of emotional/love struggle in her life. They are quick to read, and often relateable. I just finished my last book of hers, "Love the One You're With" and was less than thrilled. After reading all her others it just seemed like more of the same. I think I'm just ready to move on from her. But I'm not complaining, I've always enjoyed her writing and would certainly read whatever she comes out with next.
Bossypants by Tina Fey
Seriously, who doesn't LOVE Tina Fey? I've always been a fan of hers and after reading Bossypants, I'm an even bigger fan. Fey is super approachable in this book, where she divulges a ton of stories about her time moving up through the acting ranks. First in Chicago theatre and then onto Saturday Night Live. She talks intimately about her experiences, both good and bad, with 30 Rock. It's hilarious and sincere. I recommend getting the e-book version if you have an iPad (or other e-reader) since it links to lots of pictures and extras! Definitely worth it!
